I had heard great things about the pies, chips and mash so decided we needed it all! I ordered a Latte for me, Beef, Bacon & Cheese pie ($12.50), side of mash ($4.50) and chips & gravy ($7.50). As you can see the prices are very reasonable!
The waitress came back over and asked if the girls would like a babycino and of course they all did!
The Latte and babycinos soon arrived closely followed by the food which was fantastic with how full the cafe was!
As you can see below the babycino (which they gave us for free!) was a good size and came with a marshmellow. My latte (2 below) went down a treat after running around Kings Park with 3 kids. They use Toby's Estate coffee and it was very smooth.
While they were getting me some small plates I got a photo of the food before the girls got into it.
The pie and mash (top photo) lived up to all I had heard! The meat melted in the mouth and had a crispy case while the mash was smooth and creamy, my 2 year old just wanted more and more!
The chips (2nd from the top) were perfect! Nice and crispy with the skin still on, lovely with a bit of gravy though when I'm not pregnant anymore I'm going back for them with aioli. My 3 year old and I were racing for all the little crispy ones in the bottom of the bowl!
Being near the front door it was a tad chilly when people were coming in and out though the girls didn't notice. There is a great buzz as people chat over their meals with a mix of city workers, students and families.
Service was fantastic! They were very quick and helpful.
I think if this cafe was a little closer to us I'd be there every week! Can see why the coffee cards wall (pictured above) is chock a block!
I'll be back to try breakfast soon!
