Feral Brewing Company

I wasn't very organised for C's 2nd birthday so when I rang The Laughin' Barrel and they were booked out we turned to the Entertainment Book to see what vouchers we had for the Swan Valley. My husband decided it had to be Feral Brewing Company!

We rang up and got a booking for 12. It was beautiful weather on the Saturday so not long after getting our table my husband was soon sipping on a beer so I took the girls down to the play area to work up an appetite. They have 4 swings (pictured above) and a sandpit. There isn't much to it but the girls wanted to stay down there building sandcastles.

Back at our table the kids menu has activities on it (pictured below under the nuggets and chips) and they bought them a pencil case full of pencils so 2 pluses for families.
Most people I have talked too suggested getting a few starters to share but the entertainment voucher was buy one main get one free so we went straight to mains. The kids menu (all priced at $9.50 or $12 with drink and icecream) consisted of nuggets and chips, fish and chips, meatballs and chips or leek lasagne and salad. J decided on the nuggets and chips (pictured above). I went with the leek and vermouth lasagne ($26, below) and my husband had the braised lamb shank and savoury cabbage faggot ($29, bottom picture).

The girls loved the chips in their meal and especially how there was a sauce holder on the side, the nuggets though were very dry. I think if we went again I would get one of the other options.

I loved the cherry tomato sauce with my lasagne. It doesn't look much like lasagne but it was tasty and I was very full even with the help of the kids at the end of it.

My husband said his was 'pretty tasty' but he probably would get the steak next time. The kids loved the parsnip chips and peas.
The staff were very friendly and attentive.

The main downside was that the kids meals came way before ours so they were finished eating and ready to run around by the time ours came.

If your husband likes to try new beers would probably be a popular spot for Father's Day or a birthday.
