Canning River Cafe is located in Wilson. It's not often I get SOR so I had no idea where it was but going down Tonkin and across Leach even during peak hour on a Friday morning it only took us 15 minutes.
I had a voucher so rang up to book us in for just after 8am. When we turned up there was noone else there and I don't blame them as it was FREEZING outside that morning! Luckily we managed to grab the one inside table and were soon warmed up by the cooking of our breakfast in the kitchen.
My husband and I both went for the Latte and Big Breakfast (he had fried eggs, I had scrambled pictured below).
The latte (above) arrived just a couple of minute before our food, we didn't have long to wait at all which is always good with kids.
The Big Breakfast consisted of 2 thick slices of bread, 2 big rashers of bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomato, a bubble & squeak kind of hashbrown and the scrambled eggs (or 2 fried or poached eggs). It was all delicious! I really loved the tomato which was cooked perfectly and so sweet, most I've had seem to have no flavour or are still quite firm. The only thing was the butter was hard to spread as it was so cold. I was so full even with the help of my kids that I didn't have lunch that day!
The girls had banana and date bread (above) which my eldest and youngest loved. My middle one isn't so keen on dates so she was my breakfast helper.
Make sure you go for a little walk across the river afterwards to exercise off a bit of the eating!
We will be back SOR hopefully when it warms up a little so we can enjoy the park when we visit.
