The George - high tea

My birthday was right after Easter this year and luckily for once my sister was up from Esperance so we organised a girly high tea together for Easter Sunday. It's not often we get out child free so we had to spoil ourselves and The George was the winner.
We had the Prestige Package ($45) which includes a glass of sparkling wine. There is also The George package ($38) and the Grand Cru ($50) which includes French Champagne.

As you can see by my pictures the food was amazing! I am glad we hadn't had lunch that day or I wouldn't have been able to eat it all. I also didn't manage to photograph everything as I often forgot getting distracted by what I would eat next!

We started at the top tier with the savoury foods which included smoked salmon and roast beef finger sandwiches and a mini quiche, (above) the second layer had hot cross buns (below) more like a scone with a cross on top with a delicious jam and thick cream and the bottom layer (2 pictures below) had delicious sweet french pastries, a rich chocolate and pistachio ganache and lemon curd and passionfruit tartlets. My mouth is watering again writing it all down!
On special occasions like Easter and Mother's Day they also have a chocolate fountain which you help yourself too.

You get a choice of teas from T2 with your high tea, I had a lovely Chamomile and Lavender but they also had Buddha's Tears, Choc Chip Chai, Perth Breakfast and more.
The staff were amazing. Our waiter had been working there until 3am that morning and straight back to it a few hours later but was so helpful and with a smile on his face he made it an all round great experience. When I mentioned I was pregnant they substituted the smoked salmon for a different offering.
When we arrived we walked the red carpet in (pictured above) and the room is warm and cosy.

I would love to go back again with a group of friends and sit around chatting, nibbling & sipping hot tea like I saw a lot of others doing on the day.

  1. Was this venue baby friendly, or not really? I have a 16 month old and have always been interested in this place :)

    1. sorry for missing this comment chikaminx. There were others with little ones. Try for a booth it would be easiest though I wouldn't call it a baby friendly venue.
